Deborah Weinreb has been a practising artist for over 25 years mostly working with photography. Her interests lie in where, as human beings, our life experiences unite. Her work focuses on aspects of life that are generally taken for granted. She is especially interested in working with multiple images to convey meaning. Asking the question : In what ways does a sequence of images construct the experience of time and place that is different from a single photograph of the same subject?
Recently Deborah has concentrated on what can happen in a very short space of time. Photography has a unique ability to freeze life and reveal what is hidden in plain sight. Using multiple images in still and moving form these works reveal sight unseen, the small details of action and interaction that happen too quickly for the eye to focus on. They capture the nuances of movement and human dexterity by concentrating the viewers’ experience, giving time to consider elements of sight unseen. |
